Todd Landman is Professor in the Department of Government and Director of the Centre for Democratic Governance,
University of
Essex. His research interests include human rights, comparative methods and Latin American politics. Apart from numerous journal articles, he is the author of

Protecting Human Rights: A Global Comparative Study (Georgetown University Press, 2005),
Issues and Methods in Comparative Politics (Routledge 2000, 2003).
Nathaniel Beck is professor in the Department of Political Science,
